Bled is a town in Slovenia, on the shores of Lake Bled, in the Julian Alps, east of Triglav National Park. A popular tourist destination. In the center of the lake is the only island in Slovenia, which is the Catholic chapel of the Assumption of the 16th century, and above the lake on a steep cliff is the oldest in Slovenia castle Bled. Lake Bled is located 10 kilometers from the capital of Slovenia Ljubljana. The maximum depth of the lake is 30 meters. The mountains protect the lake from northern winds, so the lake warms up well to 25 degrees Celsius in July and August. Once in the Middle Ages, the name Bled bore an impregnable castle, which was the center of episcopal possessions. In the nineteenth century, Bled became a private property, and with the construction of the railway - the tourist center of Slovenia. In the middle of Lake Bled there is a small island (Blejski otok) on which the Assumption Chapel is located. This islet with a church is the main attraction of the lake, on it during the excursion you can be about half an hour. The island can be reached by boats called here - "platna". You can also ride on them all over the lake, looking at all the sights on the shore, of which there are many. In the chapel there is a “bell of desires”, in it you can punch, making a wish, which, according to legend, will certainly come true. There is a local legend about an inconsolable widow whose husband, the owner of the Castle, was killed by bandits. At her request, a bell was cast for the church on the island. Unfortunately, while the bell was being transported to the island, a severe storm began on the lake, the boat capsized and the boaters drowned. Then the poor widow went to a monastery in Rome, after which the Pope was told her sad story. The Pope ordered a new bell to be cast and sent to Bled. This bell, which is now the famous "bell of desires", was made in Padova in 1534. It is said that the ringing of a lost bell at the bottom of Lake Bled is sometimes clearly heard at night during a storm. In 1809, when Bled was near France, due to lack of financial resources, the French began selling bells from a church on the island. Only the “bell of desires” remained. The tourist infrastructure here is developed at the highest level, there is everything that a discerning tourist can want. It is not necessary to talk about the transparency of the water in the lake, it is necessary to see. The Church of St. Martin looks very picturesque against the backdrop of mountains immersed in clouds. Bled Castle is located in a picturesque location on top of a 130-meter cliff, next to Lake Bled. The castle is one of the oldest in Slovenia, the first mention of it dates back to 1004, when the castle was still called Feldes.Solid areas: 1%
