Namib is a coastal desert in Namibia, Africa; the country gets its name from this area. The area of Namib is over 100,000 square kilometers. The name of the desert in the language of the indigenous people Nama means "the place where there is nothing". The Namib Desert is extremely dry (only 10–13 mm of precipitation per year).
