Title: Porridge From Ax.
Russian folk tale, nearly identical to "Stone Soup", except the traveler is specifically a soldier, the recipe is for ax porridge instead of stone soup, and the soldier goes away with the old woman's hatchet. This illustration is good of the pot on the fire, but I'm not sure what the orange thing above the ax in the center is.

Русская народная сказка, почти идентичны "Каменный суп", за исключением того, путешественник специально солдат, рецепт для топора кашу вместо камня суп, и солдат уходит с топором старушки. Эта иллюстрация хороша горшка на огне, но я не уверен, что оранжевая вещь выше топором в центре.

Вообще по цветам (белый-красный-зеленый) я думала, что это белорусские едоки бульбы-картошки. Узор внизу картинки похож на белорусский национальный орнамент, а у хозяйки платок завязан так, как завязывают украинки и белоруски (помните незабвенную Хитяеву - Солоху в фильме "Ночь под Рождество"?)
