The Shifter is a puzzle in which a pixel-based image with a number of colors from 2 to 9 is hidden. You need to discover it by placing each of the cells in the right color. The left mouse click opens the next color, the right click opens the previous one.
The numbers in the cells show how many of the four adjacent cells (left, right, bottom, top) are inverted incorrectly. For example, the number 4 shows that all 4 adjacent cells are of the wrong color. Zero (empty) means that all adjacent cells have been located correctly and no further flips are needed.
The puzzle is fairly simple. Once you solve a shifter once, the logic behind the solution process will become immediately clear. It is recommended to start with small black-and-white puzzles At first, you should turn the adjacent cells with the digit 4 on them (3 for the ones at the border of the puzzle, 2for the ones in the corner) until the number disappears. When all the numbers disappear, the picture is fully assembled.
