No, if this was the Mercedes-Benz logo, it would be evenly proportioned enough that the bottom space would have purple in it.

For once, I'll agree symmetry caused a disappointment. And while I agree the black is a peace symbol, all together it looks most like an African tribal shield! Suggestion : do black part again, but in each third have a red slash over a pistol, rifle, and bomb.
